* "traffic sewer" is my pet name (thanks to Tom Radulovich of BART) for roads built for cars, not people...you know: five lanes, one way, 35mph speed limit treated as 50mph speed limit, rounded corners for fast turns/increased pedestrian death, "crosswalks" that no one really takes seriously.
The other word choice was "arterial" which seemed patently pro-car (they're only arterials if you're a driver!), so i used "traffic sewer" instead
