If you want to make change, don't write about it, do it. Go to your elected representatives, get an ordinance passed. If one already exists, organize people to demand that it is enforced. In Pittsburgh, the city decided that they wanted to stop j-walkers. They issued about 100 tickets in one week-- and that did the trick for awhile. Albeit, people are j-walking again, but we stopped for a number of months.
The poetry is a great first step, to organize a grassroots constituency-- capatilize on it.
