No - the passenger in the other car was holding a gun pointed at the other driver; no doubt that was why the other driver strayed over the lane line.
Of course, I didn't want the gunman to think I'd seen his weapon, so I didn't drop back behind them (fearing being shot at), but drove ahead, and tried to get the license number by looking in my rearview mirror so I could report it to the CHP (this was in the pre-cellphone days).
